The session provides an overview of MHPAEA’s rules and testing paradigms and a discussion of problems and challenges encountered in assessing and enforcing issuer compliance with the law. The parity rules are sequential and interrelated and all must be accounted for. Problems encountered range from insufficient issuer documentation regarding compliance to the challenges of properly evaluating Nonquantitative Treatment Limitations.
