CICSR® Application

 

Certified Insurance Consumer Service Representative (CICSR®)

In accordance with the rules established by the IRES Board of Directors, to earn the CICSR® designation, you must:

  1. Satisfy the specified CICSR® curriculum requirements. See the CICSR® Designation Checklist for the CICSR® curriculum requirements.

  2. Have two or more years of full time experience with an insurance regulatory agency, or in the insurance industry. Regulatory contractors with two years of experience are also eligible.

  3. Be a General or Individual Sustaining Member in good standing. If you are not already an IRES member, you will need to join IRES (or renew your membership) before you are able to submit an application.

As a part of the application process, you will be required to acknowledge that:

You will also be asked to disclose if you have been found guilty of in a civil and/or criminal felony action involving dishonesty or a breach of trust. If you have, you must include a statement regarding the disclosure.

 

Your application may be completed in multiple sessions. However, once you start the application you will only have 30 days in which to complete and submit it. In addition, documents uploaded to the application will not be saved with the application until such time as you submit it. If you are completing the application in multiple sessions, use the link below to return to your application. After 30 days, you will be required to start a new application.

 

To help make the application process as smooth as possible, please have the the following information/documentation ready for inclusion in your application.

  • Documentation to support that you have earned one of the required consumer/customer service designations required to satisfy Part I of the  CICSR® curriculum .

  • Documentation to support that you have satisfactorily completed four (4) elective courses as required by Part II of the  CICSR® curriculum .

  • If applicable, a statement regarding being found guilty in a civil and/or criminal felony action involving dishonesty or a breach of trust.

  • If you have been a General or Individual Sustaining of IRES for less than 2 years, a letter from a manager or supervisor attesting on behalf of their insurance organization that the required work experience has been met.

Documentation supporting that you have satisfied Part I and Part II of the  CICSR® curriculum would include but not be limited to transcripts, certificates of competition, or other written acknowledgements from the course provider. Files uploaded must be less than 10 MB. Allowed file types include: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, pdf, doc, and docx.
